DOSSIER -- SECTION B
At the age of 17 Eden Blake had it all. She was smart, beautiful and in love with the star quarterback of her High School. When he asked Eden to be his date for the Senior Prom she eagerly accepted. Just after the prom Eden's perfect world was shattered. A stray bullet from a drive-by shooting struck and killed her betrothed.
When she got over her grief she resolved to do anything in her power to stop the type of random viloence that had brought her face to face with the real world. She abandonded her budding career as an actress and dancer, and pursued a degree in criminology instead. Her dedication to her new cause allowed her to graduate early and near the top of her class. Her application the the DEA was quickly accepted.
She learned to speak Spanish and Creole during the undercover work she did in Central and South America, the Caribbean and in the Louisana Bayou areas. She learned to use her appearance and her acting abilities to infiltrate the world of the Drug Lords. On one of the assignments she helped investigate a mysterious drug cartel that operated in Haiti, Jamaica and New Orleans. This was an unusual group who seemed to dabble in Vodoo and other magical "superstitions", as well as the drug trade. Weeks of laborious investigation and undercover work produced a name for the organization, the Cabal.
During an arranged meeting something turned sour and a weird sort of gunfight ensued. A strange fog rose from the ground and she and her partner of two years, Josh McGruder, became seperated. Vastly outnumbered, and having no clue where Josh was, Eden was forced to flee. Josh was not so lucky, his body was found a week later, bearing the signs of horrible torture.
Eden only knew that a woman, known as Tarot, was a leader of the Cabal. She vowed to avenge her partner's death. Eventually she killed a Cabal lacky, that the DEA had in custody, while attempting to get several of them to talk. Due to her spotless record, and the psychological stress she was under, the DEA swept the incident under the rug but Eden was force to resign.
Eden became a vigilante. She operated out of New Orleans and became known as "The Dancer". She has the skills she aquired as a DEA agent, and several well placed contacts (among them Josh's brother) who support what she is doing. Eden has amassed a small fortune from the drug money she has appropriated during her operations. She causes as much trouble for the Cabal as she can and espically for the woman known as Tarot. But the Cabal is very good at whatever it is that they do and Eden has found her lack of progress to be maddening. She has brought many a criminal down but has never been able to be more than an annoyance to the mysterious Cabal.
Recently Eden has moved to Hudson City, since she believes that the Cabal has now centered its operations in that city. She fights crime as a vigilante and always keeps an eye out for any information that might bring her closer to avenging her fallen partner.
Eden has no idea what the Cabal really is. She has managed to avoid several attempts the Cabal has made to kill her, or worse yet, capture her. She angrily, realizes that these attempts have been half-hearted. Apparently she has failed to be enough of an annoyance to warrant a serious effort, yet.
