Kjar Kvaransen

"Ur-Erkoren struggles through life
Stricken as a Babe but chosen true
His tale is Trials followed by Strife
Burning enthusiasm he lives to rue
At every turn ill chance a knife
Aimed at his back, but held by who?"
|
|
Cursed with bad luck since the womb, Kjar has always had a difficult life of it.
In his 40's now, he has nothing to lose and little to live for. The only thing that
really captures his interest is the prospect of new kinds of magic to study, and
those are few and far between.
|
All things considered, he'd rather just find some quiet out of the way place to
molder. He definitely does not want to go on some grandiose faring, but he's learned
in his life that whenever he fights fate things just turn out worse for him. So,
he's resigned to the journey though not enthusiastic about it.
|
He does command powerful Elemental forces, and can be quite dangerous when provoked.
However, his lack of interpersonal skills and sheer bad luck often interfere with
his life.
|
|
|
As the quest of the Nine Arrows progressed, Kjar survived to the end and even prospered,
coming into his strength and a new found confidence to go with it. He eventually
realized that he was his own worst enemy, and there was no one holding him back
but for himself. After making this realization he never again let anything stand
in his way, even his own bad luck.
|
By the end of the Nine Arrows great faring, which took the survivors from one end
of the continent to the other, and saw risks both great and small come their way,
including no less than two wars against the Kor, Kjar had mastered such mystic powers
that he could rightfully claim to be one of the most powerful workers of magic alive.
He even mastered the means of calling forth Elemental Lords which only a relatively
few Obermancers have managed throughout history.
|
He never returned to the Vold, and spent the rest of his days primarily in the Vorgaanese
lands furthering his knowledge of Magic.
