Grav Cutters
Though it is not required, a Neotek is usually equipped with a Grav Cutter (at full listed price). If a Neotek is promoted to become a Champion or Leader they may retain their Grav Cutter if they have one, and retain the option to purchase a Grav Cutter for themselves; this is a special exception to the normal rules for a promoted fighter's Equipment access.
A fighter must be Standing on a Grav Cutter to use it. While a fighter is Standing on a Grav Cutter, the Grav Cutter is considered to be the fighter's base.
An Active fighter who is able to use equipement within 1'' of a Grav Cutter that is not in use can make the following action:
Mount Grav Cutter (Basic): The fighter climbs aboard the Grav Cutter and takes control of it.
While in control of this item a fighter gains a +3'' bonus to their base Movement characteristic,
cannot be Pinned, and all movement taken while Standing on a Grav Cutter gains the benefit of Flight:
Flight: When this fighter moves voluntarily, with some or all of their movement they may fly in any direction, up or down levels, across gaps, over obstacles, and / or across difficult terrain without penalty or need for Initiative checks.
This movement cannot pass through impassable terrain or other fighters, and must end with this fighter's base resting on flat terrain not overlapping anything else; this ability cannot be used if this is not possible.
Additionally, if this fighter is not Seriously Injured and would fall to a lower level, instead place the fighter at the nearest possible point on the battlefield near where they would have fallen such that their base does not overlap anything else, observing the 1'' rule; no Initiative check is made, no damage is inflicted.
Flight: When moving voluntarily, can fly. If would fall and not Seriously Injured, instead lands safely.
An Active fighter who is Standing on a Grav Cutter can step off the Grav Cutter as part of normal movement.
If a fighter Standing on a Grav Cutter becomes Prone by any means, the Grav Cutter remains where it is and the fighter
falls from it.
Neotek Skills
When a Neotek would choose a Primary Skill, they may instead choose one of the following Neotek Skills.
Bull Charge: When this fighter makes close combat attacks as part of a Charge action, any attacks they use that
have the Melee trait also gain the
Knockback
trait and are resolved at +1 Strength.
Dodge: If this fighter is not Seriously Injured and would be hit by an attack (even an auto-hit attack such as a Template), you may roll a D6. If a 6 is rolled this fighter is not hit and the attack has no effect on this fighter. This does not apply against hits that do not originate from an attack, such as some environmental dangers.
Hit and Run: After taking their attacks as part of a Charge action and before enemies take their Reaction attacks, this fighter may make a free Disengage action. If this fighter is still Standing after disengaging, they must immediately move up to D3+1'' in a direction of their choosing (the 1'' rule applies).
Impetuous: Once per round during their activation, when this fighter could Consolidate at the end of a close combat they may instead make a free Charge action.
Prepared: This fighter adds +1 to all Ammo checks they attempt.
Additionally, once per battle if this fighter fails an Ammo check they may cancel the outcome and proceed as if the check was successful.
Prepared: 1x/battle ignore Out of Ammo. +1 on all Ammo checks.
Shredder: Once per close combat exchange, when this fighter hits with at least one close combat attack against an opposing fighter who does not have an Armor
Save or a Field Save, before rolling to wound you may inflict a Flesh Wound on that fighter. If such a Flesh Wound reduces
an opposing fighter to 0 Toughness they suffer a Memorable Death, and this fighter gains 1 XP in addition to any other
XP they might get for taking the fighter Out of Action.
