Cyrus Cimmeriad is an example Daemonsouled,
with strange sonic abilities.

Some rare characters are Possessed by a Daemon, but have managed to retain or regain
their free will. Such characters are an odd blend of Daemon and mortal, bending
the mystical potency of their Daemon to their own ends and becoming intertwined
in a symbiotic relationship, perhaps inextricably. Typically possessing superhuman
physicality, and often various personalized abilities reflective of the personality
of the human half of the equation, Daemonsouls are quite probably Damned in the
hereafter but can be quite powerful here on earth.
|
A Daemonsouled character's Daemon cannot be Exorcised if the host does not want
them to be, nor can the Daemon chose to leave the host; they are locked in a constant
struggle for dominance. While the Daemon can't be Exorcised, it can be Banished,
and temporarily weakened. The Daemon is considered to have Active Points equal to
the character's current Character Points for purposes of banishment.
|
Daemonsouled abilities are purchased in an Innatus Pool, and should take the Bound
Daemon (-1/4) Limitation, which in 6e is simply a label change for Unified Power;
in 5e treat all such powers as if they were in an Elemental Control for purposes
of negative Adjustment powers. Conceptually Daemonsouled characters should generally
have higher than normal Ego and / or Presense.
|
Holy Ground and Faith
|
For no Complication or point reduction, Daemonsouled characters suffer a -1 penalty
to all 3d6 resolution rolls while on consecrated "Holy Ground". They also suffer
+1 Stun from Faith based attacks; even if they would normally take no damage from
a Faith based attack they still suffer 1 Stun.
|
Exorcism
|
Though a Daemonsouled character normally isn't vulnerable to Exorcism unless the
human host wants their Daemon to be exorcised, the attempt at Exorcism still disrupts
the delicate balance between the host and Daemon. The attempt to initiate an Exorcism
against a Daemonsoul fails outright, but the Daemonsouled character takes 1d6 Stun
loses 1d6 Endurance with no defenses applied due to the disruption of the connection
between the Daemon and the host.

Distinctive Features: Daemonic Aura
|
The Daemon in a Daemonsouled character is detectible by Supernatural Awareness,
with an aura that is often sinister or disturbing. Daemonsouled characters are obviously
different from characters that are simply Possessed; their aura showing a strange
combination of human and Daemon energies in constant conflict; Supernaturally Aware
characters who have never encountered a Daemonsoul before might find it quite baffling
initially.

Distinctive Features: Daemonic Aura (Concealable; Extreme Reaction; Detectable By
Unusual Senses; Not Distinctive In Some Cultures); Complication: -10
|
Accidental Change: Daemonic Control
|
Daemonsouled characters usually have an Accidental Change defining circumstances
under which the Daemon can temporarily take over, during which times the character
falls under the GM's control until the Recovery roll can be made and the character
reasserts dominance. The following is an example; individual characters can have
different conditions and settings (with GM approval).

Accidental Change: Character Falls Under GM Control; When Character Is Mentally
Weakened (Uncommon), go 8-, recover 11-; Complication: -20
