Zackary is well into his middle age and it is showing. He is out of shape and slightly overweight. His bearing however is boisterous and happy. He has all the money he will ever need and is having loads of fun. He sports a cowboy hat and looks like the trucker he used to be. He has a small pet dog that he fawns over.
Zackary Hak was for the longest time just a normal truck driver. Well, perhaps not quite 'normal', as he always had a bit of a geek streak. Zackary was a huge movie buff, loved 'B' grade movies, and had a special fondness for zombie flicks. One of his favorite day dreams while driving his truck was how 'he' would survive a zombie apocalypse. You know, like Night of the Living Dead, 28 Days, and stuff like that. In his daydreams he was like a cross between Mad Max and a zombie smasher, driving a big ass truck from town to town through post-apocalyptic zombie infested wastelands.
Well, let's hear it for the lottery! One day, Zackary won big....real big. Big enough to actually fulfill his fantasy of making a zombie apocalypse truck drivin road movie, starring none other than Mr. Zackary Hak, Esquire.
Zackary spent two whole years turning his semi into the ultimate movie prop...a real honest to gawd, zombie apocalypse urban assault survival vehicle. And while he was doing that, he wrote the script for the movie to go with it...all the best parts of the daydreams he'd been churning through for years on the long hauls. It was just all living proof that dreams do come true! Or at least it seemed that way to Zackary at the time. The problem when you are self financing your own movie is that there really is no one to tell you when what you are creating is...well...total shit in Zackary's case.
To make matters worse, normally a business savy movie producer will line up things like distribution 'before' they make the movie whereas Zackary made his movie first and then tried to get it released into the wild. That didn't work out so well. In fact...it didn't work out at all. The resulting "film" aired in a sum total of five theaters nationwide at one and three projector small town dumps. Zackary even had to pay the theater in his home town to play it for a few friends and family members, if you can believe the gall of that. Eventually Zackary put a digital version up on his IVacuous page and it got some buzz from a few hundred hard core Zombie movie afficianados nationwide, who collectively deemed it "so bad its classically bad!". Their cult appreciation for the film only served to encourage Zackary that he had a hot title on his hands.
But no man can say that Zack Hak is a quitter, and he's not giving up on his dream so easily. So now he is on the road, with his bus and a few of his cast and crew, doing a cross country grass-routes tour trying to get their movie to play in theaters. Zackary Hak is just looking to have fun and for the people around him to have fun. He is not quite cognizant that what is fun for him is not always fun for everyone else, but he means well.
"The Zombie Apocalypse is coming to your town soon!"
Zackary has long dreamed day dreams of fighting zombies, and starring in his own movie where he was fighting zombies. But all that is just play. If he were to ever be confronted with the reality of a zombie apocalypse, he would likely completely freak out. At least at first. He is a good guy and he has given the matter a lot of thought. Once he got over the shock, he likely would become a fairly dependable comrade in arms, and might even wind up being heroic.
Zackary has a license for an Atchison Auto "AA-12" shotgun. (Amazing what you can get when you are rich and incorporated.) He keeps it in a safe in the Zombie Bus. In an actual Zombie apocalypse, he would break it out of storage as well as wear the protective gear he wore for his movie. If there are more capable characters about, he will hang back and let them take the lead. If no one else is leading however, he will (once he's gotten over his initial freak out) be more than able to take the lead himself.
