Doctor Allosius Jones GM
APPEARANCE
Height:   5' 10" Hair:  Brown
Weight:  175 lbs Eyes:  Faded Blue
With a grizzled strong-jawed appearance and looking like a classic old-school serial pulp hero no matter what he wears, Jones's general resemblance to a character from a well known movie franchise swiped second or third hand from stories about him leaves most people thinking "where have I seen this guy before?".
BACKGROUND
PERSONALITY
Born July 1, 1899, Doctor Allosius Jones has experienced a life best summed up as "absurdly unlikely". Raised by his world-traveling biblical archaeolgist / scholar father, Allosius had more adventures before completing puberty than most people have in their entire lives. After growing up traveling around the world with his father Jones fought in the tail end of World War I, but it had mostly run its course before he made it to the front.

Returning to the States after the Great War Jones followed in his father's footsteps and became an adventuring professor of archaeology. Being both good at his job and prone to involvement in unexpected events Jones quickly came face to face with supernatural things...and more significantly survived. More than survived, he thrived and soon made a practice out of hunting down mystically and historically noteworthy artifacts. An interesting quirk of his was that he turned such artifacts over to museums rather than selling them for money as a looter or treasure hunter would do. The 30's were a good decade for Jones, and his exploits from that era have become nigh-legendary in supernatural circles...and somehow got leaked to the mundane world and ended up as a screen play in the 80's and though much distorted and removed from real events it fueled one of the most successful and iconic film franchises of all time. Jones sometimes wryly remarks that if it weren't for the Accords he'd sue for a cut of the profits.

One of Allosius's particularly notable early adventures was an encounter with the feared and horrible Infernalist Tudor Brezak somewhere near Tibet in 1934, in pursuit of the Lair of the Ebon Dragon. Though several of Jones's companions did not make it, Allosius survived and got the Ebon Dragon statue before Tudor could, thus adding his name to the very short list of people that have crossed Tudor and lived. Later during World War 2, Jones was recruited by the OSS due to his experience in the limited field of facing down supernatural dangers and surviving in general and his first hand experience with Tudor Brezak specifically. Another chain of wild misadventures was the result, including another head to head run in with Tudor Brezak. Even more significantly Jones found and drank from the ancient and potent Sumerian artifact known as the Chalice of the Gods and was gifted with a number of innately superhuman enhancements including an extended and charmed existence.

After the War, Jones became one of the signatories of the second set of Accords instituited by the newly founded UN, and became a close advisor to the FBI Section M, British Mi13, and the UN Bureau of the Accords, and a tenured professor at Marshall Barnett University in Connecticut. Jones continued to have adventures, including a third run in with Tudor Brezak in 1979 (Jones almost got him for good that time), and networked with succeeding generations of Hunters becoming a key mentor and point of contact for many.

Unlike most Hunters, Jones doesn't Hunt the supernatural directly in most circumstances, rather he goes after artifacts and removes them from circulation. Of course, on many occassions, bad guys end up dead and evil plans end up ruined, but that's really not Jones's focus. As a point of pride, Jones never keeps such artifacts, instead giving them over to the governement or the appropriate organization to ensure that they are destroyed or stay put away where they can't fall into the wrong hands. However, he can always be counted on to step up to the plate when a real threat is looming, and over the decades has been involved in a number of big takedowns either directly or indirectly as an advisor or facilitator.

"Why does it always have to be snakes?"
TACTICS AND COMBAT NOTES
Allosius is an extremely skilled "gentleman adventurer" and scholar. Additionally, he once drank from the Chalice of the Gods and was imbued with a number of subtle but real enhancements that make him extremely survivable and blessed with uncommonly good luck. He's also skilled with a whip, and is a fair shot with a revolver. He also has a really cool hat.
CAMPAIGN USE
