HERONet Initiative

The HERONet Initiative is a special PRIMUS-funded project whose purpose is to reach
out to supergroups and individual superheroes across America to encourage sanctioning,
and extend material assistance and good will in return. It is a response to the
growing unpopularity of the Superhuman Registration policies PRIMUS has enacted
in recent years, and complaints from cooperating heroes that all they got for registering
was bureaucratic red tape and interference with no tangible benefits in return.

It is a fledgling operation, but it is well supported and headed up by a very enthusiatic
proponent, the superhuman known as Showdown. Over the past few years Showdown has
successfully assembled a core group of useful assistants that he relies on to spread
the word and grow the program, and has traveled extensively to meet with local and
regional superheroes to encourage participation and working with them to form a
two-way partnership rather than the more typical one sided arrangements most people
had encountered when dealing with PRIMUS previously.

The number of participating supers continues to grow steadily; growth is more hampered
by the budgetary restraints the program labors under than anything else.
