Equipment Pools
Common equipment
is purchased with money; examples are mechanics
tools, flashlights, etc. Your combat gear
(armor, weapons…) must be covered by your
equipment pool. You add up the real cost
of all your equipment and divide by 5, that
number must be less than or equal to your
equipment pool points. If it is greater
than this number, you will be returning
the equipment to its rightful owner, giving
it back to the armory, hunted down, assigned
a repo man, etc. You will never be owed
equipment; if you spend the points on it,
you must either buy it with money (sort
of a luck effect: “hey, we just got that
in stock.” or acquire it in some other fashion
(read role-playing). Your tech access level
(above) also serves as a rudimentary contact
for equipment acquisition. You may buy your
equipment pool up to 50 points at character
creation. After that you’ll be exposed to
lots of new technology and you’ll be able
to buy up your pool to take advantage of
that equipment. As far as the cost of the
pool, we’ll be using the rules presented
in Dark Champions.
