Some characters can move from one place to another without crossing through the intervening space. In addition to allowing characters to travel great distances in the blink of an eye, it can also potentially allow them to reach places that would otherwise be inaccessible.
Effect: Teleport is usually used to justify a character moving from point A to point B. However it can also be used on reactions to avoid harm or Complications and to provide narrative justification for escaping from certain situations by teleporting away.
Teleport can be stepped down to allow more mass to be transported, each step down allows additional mass equivalent to one more person.
Teleport can also sometimes be incorporated into actions as part of an attack (particularly a surprise attack), but a character that wants to consistently make teleport related attacks should consider an SFX or an Attack trait with a teleporation justification.
Teleport can be resisted by esoteric defenses designed to discourage or block teleportation. Opportunities activated on a failed Teleport attempt might result in a character accidentally teleporting elsewhere or a group getting separated, and so on.
At d4 characters can teleport within their own zone.
At d6 characters can teleport within their own line of sight.
At d8 characters can teleport to places they are familar with within a large regional area.
At d10 characters can teleport to places they are familiar with on their current planet.
At d12 characters can teleport to places they are familiar with virtually anywhere in their current universe.
Common SFX: The Passenger SFX can be applied to allow a character to carry an additional persons worth of mass per step (and the first passenger doesn't require a step down).
The Blind Teleport SFX can be applied to allow a character to teleport places they are unfamiliar with.
The Dimensional SFX can be applied to allow a character to expand their teleporation to include one or more other dimensions that they are aware of.
The Disruption SFX can be applied to allow a character to use Teleport as an attack against other living things that they teleport with them.
Common Limits: The Gate Limit can be applied to indicate a character who can only Teleport using uni-directional Gates; however other people and things can use a Teleport Gate while it is open.
The Loci Limit can be applied to indicate a character who can only Teleport to specially prepared known locations.
The Self Only Limit can be applied to indicate a character who can only Teleport themselves and their personal items.
The Unsafe Limit can be applied to permit activated opportunities related to the usage of Teleport to inflict damage or Complications upon the character and / or the Scene.
