Effect: Hex is used to inflict Body or Ego damage or to apply a Complication to a target.
Hex uses Standard Range but at one die step lower than usual, with d4 requiring touch or close proximity, d6 allowing same zone, d8 allowing same zone and adjacent zones, and so on.
Hex can also be used on reaction rolls when appropriate, providing justification for a character to spend a Plot Point to cause stress to their attacker on a successful reaction.
However, using Hex is slow; a character cannot take the normal one zone of movement in the same panel they use Hex.
Common SFX: The Fast Cast SFX can be applied to allow a character to move a zone in the same panel they use Hex.
Hex is often combined with Area Effect SFX to represent magical bursts.
Common Limits: Hex is often paired with the Restrainable Limit to represent the necessity for mystic passes, incantations, and / or material components, but this is not required.
The Evil-Eye Limit can be paired with Hex to indicate a version of Hex that only works if the character and a living target make eye contact.
