Typifying Excerpt

"…we were working a job on a master Vamp, but we were in over our heads and had
lost the trail. We were sitting around a back table in Denny's around 2 am trying
to figure out what we were going to do next, and we all kind of slowly came to the
realization that someone else was sitting at the table with us. Somehow, none of
us were alarmed by this. He knew our names, all of us, and what we were doing. He
offered us info we needed for a cut of the Bounty if we succeeded; he wouldn't negotiate
the terms, and we eventually made the deal. His data was spot on, and using it we
tracked the leech down and Sanctioned it. He had a face at the time...but none of
us could remember what he looked or sounded like after he was gone; that's how we
knew we had just met the No Face Man. After we were paid he appeared again when
we were spliting the Bounty, congratulated us, and took his share of the take…"

Profile
|
No Face Man is considered to be a benign Supernatural, with no known Accord violations.
However, No Face Man exhibits powerful obfuscatory abilities and his (or her) true
identity is entirely unknown.
|
The origin and exact nature of No Face Man's abilities are unknown. He has powerful
obfuscatory abilities, and generally does not detect as being Supernatural in any
way. Sensitives report sensing him as a sort of null state, a lack of Supernatural
presense or even the mild aura that normals generally possess; in some edge cases
this aura of nullness can be used to infer his presense in situations where there
should be some kind of detectible trace similar to a displacement effect.
|
Known History
|
The earliest reports of encounters with No Face Man, or a person assumed to be him,
begin in the late 70's at a rate of between one and five cases a year and have occured
at approximately the same frequency through the present day.
|
Analysis of reported incidents indicates that the No Face Man seems to take an interest
in major Supernatural events, particularly concerning innately Superhuman threats.
Cross-analysis with the Permanently Sanctioned list indicates a marked focus on
classes of Supernaturals such as Vampires and other malevolent Undead, Daemons,
and some types of Faeries.
|
Known Motivation
|
No Face Man gives nothing for free, taking some kind of monetary renumeration or
valuable information or occassionally an owed favor in return for the knowledge
and favors he offers.
|
However, No Face Man does not appear to be motivated by mercenary concerns, and
reportedly evinces a strong desire for dangerous Supernaturals to be Sanctioned.
|
Known Abilities
|
No Face Man has demonstrated no overt abilities, but his ability to appear and disappear,
avoid notice, and obscure memory of his appearance imply potent obfuscatory powers
at a minimum. It is also unknown if the information he brokers is acquired in whole
or part by Supernatural or Mundane means.
|
Known Associates
|
No Face Man has no known associates per se, but is very well connected amongst Hunters
and Supernaturals that abide by the Accords, and is potentially owed favors by some
of them. It is known that No Face Man sometimes acts as a gadfly or catalyst for
events, getting together people who ordinarily would not interact and / or pushing
them in a particular direction or towards a particular outcome.
